here is the actual plot of yugioh. yugi takes 8 years to solve a puzzle under the assumption that it is a magic wish-granting box, and after being bullied his whole life, he asks for some friends from an evil ancient pharoah that slaughtered the team that excavated the puzzle and then he goes on another homicidal rampage and completely obliterates everyone that hurts yugi. cards were not originally a part of anything, yugioh was just a violent story about a magic box king playing punishment games. yes, he actually killed people

I was talking with my psychoanalyst and she told me that the psychovisual impact of this scene could be based in one of the disorders presented by paranoid people, consisting to deflect a self-image that urges them to do things they don’t normally want to do.
