TO ALL YOU ARMIN HATERS OUT THERE WHO SAY HE IS USELESS AND A COWARD:

It is normal to cry when the people you have been training with for the last few years being slaughtered within the first 5 minutes of combat.

It is normal to cry when your best friend, who you have shared all your hopes and dreams with, has been devoured.

It is normal to be rooted to the spot and helpless in your first battle. No amount of training can prepare you for the actual thing. Slashing dummies in training is way different from facing 15m tall monsters.

Remember, courage is not the absence of fear, but the capacity to act in the presence of fear. To me, it is even more impressive to be scared and to overcome that, instead of having no fear at all. Fear is a natural emotion. It helps us survive. It keeps us from being reckless.

How brave was it for Armin to go weaponless against a squad full of soldiers pointing their guns at him, fingers on the triggers, ready to shoot any minute? How brave was it for Armin to plead his case in front of a captain ready to order all of their deaths if he said a single word wrong?

Listen to this people: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbYzyU5S5oQ

THE MOST HEARTFELT EMOTIONAL, MOVING, POWERFUL, DETEREMIND, EPIC SALUTE AND SPEECH IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND.

“As a soldier, I swore to devote my heart to the resurrection of mankind! There is no greater glory than to die with that belief! If we use his Titan powers of his, we might recapture the town! For the glory of mankind, I bed you! In my final moments before I die, permit me to explain his strategic importance!“

HE WAS FULLY WILLING TO DIE FOR HIS FRIENDS. NOT ONLY THEM, BUT ALSO FOR THE BENEFIT OF MANKIND. JUST HOW COURAGEOUS WAS THAT? WHAT A SELFLESS HEROIC ACT! HOW CAN YOU DENY ARMIN’S BRAVERY?

That’s not all. Who inspired Eren to see the outside world? Armin did.

Who got Hannes to save Eren and Mikasa from the titan in episode 1? Armin did.

Who came up with the idea to use the Eren Titan to kill the titans outside the HQ in episode 8? Armin did.

Who came up with the plan to blind and kill the titans inside the supply room in episode 8? Armin did.

Who came up with the plan to lure the titans to one side of the wall so that Eren Titan could carry the boulder to plug up the hole in the wall? Armin did.

Who woke up Eren Titan from his dream state even when Mikasa was too afraid to approach in episode 12? Armin did.

If the hole in the wall was not plugged, the armoured titan might have come through and breached Wall Rose. Meaning of course, retreat back into Wall Sina, and the loss of up to 50% of humanity. Armin prevented that! He is the hero of the Battle Of Trost!

All of you are blinded by the badassness of Mikasa and Eren and Levi. But you are forgetting one simple thing. A war isn’t just won by fighting prowess alone. A war is won by combining that, with intelligence and being smart.

If Eren and Mikasa can trust Armin and view him highly so much to the extent of placing their lives in his hand, why can’t you? They spent more than half of their lives with each other, through thick and thin, through good and bad, and they rely on him. If anyone knows his true character, it is them.

So why do you think you know better and judge him based on a few moments a justifiably shed tears? Tears don’t signify weakness. It signified how much Armin cared about Eren and the rest of his team.

Even though Armin might not be the most skilled at combat,  HE IS STILL WILLING TO PUT HIS LIFE ON THE LINE FOR THOSE HE LOVES.  Is that not true courage? He hates fighting, yet he still joined the military with Eren and Mikasa just so he could stand by them through trials and tribulations. Is that not bravery?

Armin may not be the main character or the most badass one. But he is a loyal, courageous hero that will stand by Eren and Mikasa no matter what. If you can’t see this fact then you need to get your head out of your ass.

Rant over.
