This is why you cant trust women, even when theyre mouth is closed theyre still lying to you

you do realize that this is really hurtful right?

i did not do this to show how i am ‘lying’ to men or anyone, it’s not about how you, as a man, should feel about it - it’s about myself.

to me your statement sounds as if the left side of this picture is something awful or horrible. and no, it’s not. it is my face - with and without makeup. and whether i chose to wear it or not is MY AND JUST MY decision. and when i do, i do it for myself - so that i feel good about myself - not for you.

i think what pisses me the MOST about that comment, is that the beauty standard was literally created by men, and is perpetuated by the patriarchal society that we live in because it’s a fantasy, because all women were made to be part of this fantasy. it’s not our fault that the attractiveness we display is judged solely on how well we wear makeup, because no one looks like that. even with ‘natural’ makeup, nO ONE LOOKS LIKE THAT. men and women are attracted to faces that do not exist. how fucked up is that?

a guy once said in passing that it was necessary for his girlfriend to wear makeup, and it just blows my mind that he wouldn’t be attracted to a natural women’s face. despite how they look without makeup, because it’s not as “perfect,” as enhanced, the way women “should look,” as it is with makeup. we see men as attractive without makeup, but when we look at women without makeup? it’s shameful, it’s ugly, she hasn’t ‘put her face on.’ we see ‘attractive’ men as attractive despite them having the same flaws as women: under eye circles, thick eyebrows, uneven skin coloring, et cetera. its the fact that we are literally told to believe that our bodies, unlike those of attractive men, are not good enough. we’re told no woman will ever be good enough.

i think it scares men how closely women look like them. not because men think other men are ugly, but because when you look like someone, you identify more with them. it kills the fantasy. women become human, real, people who have body oder and fart. they’re “ugly” without makeup because they’re no longer these freakish dolls that grow zero body hair and whose cheekbones are always defined.

cosmetics for women is a HUGE industry. women’s beauty is a commodity. it’s a thing that can be bought and sold. chris hemsworth wakes up every morning and looks like sun shines out of his ass. while the op in the picture above has to spend a ridiculous amount of money and time literally redefining her face so that she and everyone else will think of her as attractive.

this comment-er calls the op a liar when him and people like him created and perpetuate the reason for its existence. he’s metaphorically punching himself in the face.

Beyonce pens equality essay, proves she’s the woman’s studies professor you wish you had

Just when you thought your one-sided relationship with her couldn’t get any better, Beyoncé wrote a feminist essay entitled, “Gender Equality is a Myth.” If this makes you want to go back to school and write about the movement that will ultimately be known as Beyoncism, “the interdisciplinary study of how to make feminism the coolest thing ever,” you are not alone.

The sex kitten aliens (The Caitians) in Star Trek: Into Darkness that indulge so many patriarchal fantasies are… Asian. I don’t know why I didn’t catch it the first time I watched this, but I’m pretty annoyed now.

Let me tell you a story that explains why this outrages me.

I had the honor of attending the Asian American panel at Dragon*Con with Garett Wang (Ensign Kim from Star Trek: Voyager), Peter Shinkoda (Dai from Falling Skies), and Justin Lin (Director of oh so many Fast and the Furious movies). It was a fascinating panel about the struggles Asian American actors face, even if it was peppered with racial slurs from a lady in the audience who felt she had the right to say them because she had married and Asian man.

But there were something wrong with that panel, and it was because it was only about Asian American actors. Actors. Never once did the subject of actresses come up, nor were there were any other actresses on the panel.

Firstly, I will never say that Asian American actors don’t have a tough time getting representation, but in comparison to the representation that Asian actresses gets, they have it significantly easier.

After all, compared to Sulu, who becomes a bad ass Captain that everyone initially underestimates, the representation of Asian women is low; their only appearance being that of the Caitains.

Asian men are never relegated to sexualized male power fantasies, or pornographically-driven subplots where their existence depends on the white male pleasing them.

And this is exactly why this scene bothers me. Those two sex kitten aliens could have literally been anyone, but they chose Asian twins.

The Asian Twin Fantasy isn’t a new fantasy, and it is always a degrading one in media (one need look no further than Austin Powers for that). It’s not only misogynistic, it’s imperialistic. Why it’s in Star Trek in this day an age only goes to show how little Asian American women representation has really gone, and why more attention needs to be paid to it. It also illustrates how deeply ingrained patriarchal conceptions of Asian women really are.

And to make things worse, you know what that species is SUPPOSED to look like?

Like, come ON. If you think “alien cat person” and the first actors that come to your mind are Asian women, youuuuu need to take a step back and realize what you just did…

I want to thank you for bringing up that point. I couldn’t find the words to express it properly, so I’m glad you jumped in with exactly the right ones :)

Someone articulated it.

A quick editorial cartoon about the intersection of self-pity, entitlement, rape, territoriality, misogyny and fear of women. You see it all over the place online in the form of Men’s Rights Activists (of whom there are a few reasonable non-misogynists), Men Going Their Own Way, Pick Up Artists, and dudes touting the “Red Pill”, because The Matrix is a good movie. Look any of these up if you have the stomach for it. These are extreme examples, but watered-down forms of these ideas are everywhere.

In lurking their blogs and youtube channels for a while, I’ve noticed that beyond the standard patriarchal chauvinism there is this deep fear of women - what they will do to me, how they will reject me, how they will use me, how they are changing society in a way that does not favor me, how they are making men into something I don’t like, how they are making themselves into something I don’t like, that they won’t give me what I want, and that they won’t give me what I think is rightfully mine. This goes beyond fear of feminism- this is fear of women at its purest. And that, to quote a puppet, leads to anger and hate. It’s sad.

I am a feminist. I think there’s enough ice cream to go around, but it does mean those of us with 3 scoops might have to give one or two up. Also, The Matrix is a fun movie but probably not anything you should be basing a philosophy on.

wow i love this so much

this is absolutely fucking awesome for such a short animation. i definitely recommend it.

Computers? Invented solely by men? Looks like someone doesn’t know their basic history; that dude in the screencap has never even heard of ADA LOVELACE, A BRILLIANT MATHEMATICIAN LAUDED AS THE FIRST COMPUTER PROGRAMMER AND THE NAMESAKE OF ADA, A COMPUTER LANGUAGE.

Son I think you need to sit the fuck down and pay attention for a mother fuckin’ minute.

” Never been forced to die in war “; Here’s a list of American women who have died in war since 9/11 as of October ‘12. Mother fuckin’ Joan d’Arc died pretty gruesomely in war too, if you’d care to remember.

” Not capable of performing the same tasks men do “; I can’t even begin to tell you how arrogant that is. For fun, here’s a woman who was a pirate and did it better than any man ever did.

” Remember when you weren’t allowed to vote? “; Do you remember when African American men weren’t allowed to vote or own land? What is your reasoning behind that? So besides being sexist, you’re racist, too?

” Never ruled the world ” Holy shit. Have you ever heard of Cleopatra? Any of the mother fucking Queens of England? Queen Victoria was a mother fuckin’ EmpressHere’s a list of recorded women rulers.

” Never invented anything worth mentioning “; First of all, do you remember Marie Curie? Pretty damn sure at least one of your highschool classes mentioned her. How about this dandy lady, Gertrude Elion. She invented the first treatment for leukemia, treatments for herpes, gout, malaria, and some other shit for when your urethra stings when you piss.

Women are a part of the world, a part of History. Women are equal to men. If you would stop to pull your head out of your ass, you’d notice that women actually contribute a shit-ton to this world.

Make your own mother fucking sandwich you little shit.

Elizabeth, queen of england.
Her predecessor, Bloody Mary, who was a psychopath and power hungry crazy bitch

omfg, I think the worst part is the reply

“I’m not sexist but THIS IS SO TRUE”

No, go fuck yourself.

Nine months after her successful Kickstarter campaign, Anita Sarkeesian unveils the much anticipated pilot episode of the Tropes Vs. Women in Video Games series, which examines how video games often portray female characters as someone who needs to be rescued.

feministsaresexist:

And once again, we’re having to ask “What about men?” Many think it’s funny that people ask this question, as if the answer is always going to be some silly way of including men where they don’t belong, but it’s often used as a silencing tactic. Ironically it’s all from a group that claims to want equality, but very few of them really do.

Women commit half of all partner violence and are just as controlling as men.

Almost one out of four relationships are violent, half of which is reciprocal, with women as the perpetrators in 70% of nonreciprocal violence.

The same research which is used to say that a woman is severely assaulted by her husband/boyfriend every 15 second in this country, also indicated that a man is severely assaulted by his wife/girlfriend every 14.6 seconds.

Women are more likely than men to “stalk, attack and abuse” their partners. (also here)

While men are less likely to report violence, which distorts crime data, virtually all randomized sociological surveys show women initiate domestic violence as often as men and use weapons more than men, that men suffer one-third of injuries, and that self-defense explains only a small portion of domestic violence by either sex.

Lesbian and bisexual relationships are more violent than heterosexual relationships.

Women are more likely to abuse their children, which only further proves that women are more violent than they’re made out to be.

And despite all of this, we still have people believing that men are more violent than women. We still have people jumping to protect abused women, while ignoring female on male violence, cheering for abusive women, or laughing at abused men, and this can mostly be attributed to feminist causes only representing the side of the issue that they care about, not the full picture. The Federal Government, under feminist pressure, still pays grants to police departments in proportion to the number of men jailed under VAWA legislation, leading to an incentive for police to expand the defintion of ‘domestic violence’ to absurd extremes, and when a man who calls the police to report domestic violence, he is three times more likely to be arrested than the woman who is abusing him, leaving any possible children between them alone with the violent parent. Where’s the child advocacy in that?

Anybody that participates in this “awareness” week is not raising awareness of domestic violence, but once again reinforcing the “women are weak and innocent, men are strong and violent” stereotype by ignoring that domestic violence goes both ways and is more often perpetuated by women than men. All this bullshit says is that men aren’t the ones that need to learn how to walk in someone else’s shoes. Really, how goddamn hard is it for feminists to take the focus off of women, walk a mile in men’s shoes, and look at the bigger picture here?
