Michiko progress! I’m making this for the Michiko to Hatchin dub premiere with Funimation and ACP at Anime Boston. :3 Just need to make the belt, and adjust the necklace…
This is my favorite outfit from the show at the moment, so I’ve been dying to make it! I am not super excited about my tube top, but it will have to do for now, because I SCOURED Walmart, Joann, and Hobby Lobby in my city, and this was the best I could manage! I’d much rather have a very drape-able polyester solid, or summery knit. Alas, I couldn’t find anything perfect! I am pretty excited about the denim though. It’s a two way stretch, and it has subtle zebra/tiger print on it, which I think goes nicely with the theme, but it isn’t garishly distracting. ^_^
I didn’t know what the thing was in the back of Michiko’s top, so I took some liberties to turn it into a keyhole opening with elastic on top, so that even though the tube top is woven (non stretch), I do not need a zipper or other closure device! I also want to top stitch on my seams on the skirt to make them stand out more. Can’t decide if I want to top stitch in a black, or in a lighter contrasting neutral…
I also kinda want a new wig, but only if I see something I really like! Something a bit longer, maybe even a lace front for some of Michiko’s other hair styles. ^_^ This one will work for the premiere though :3
